OFFICIAL
REVIEW OF TRYST NIGHTCLUB by Jack Colton, Updated
10/17/2007
This
partially open-aired lake front venue is well-known among locals
due to its stylish décor, gorgeous
bartenders, and reasonably accommodating door staff. The club
is very easy to move around in, even at it's most crowded times,
and is considerably "cooler" than most other venues,
as a good portion of Tryst receives a refreshlingly cool breeze
off of the water that surrounds the majority of the club (by the
same token, this is a negative during the hot summer months as
the club is very humid). You don't necessarily need to have bottle
serviceat Tryst in order to have
a great time, but you certainly won't regret it as Tryst offers
it's table customers some of the best service of any Las Vegas
nightclub.
KNOW
WHAT EXPECT.... by Jack Colton, Updated

There is
nothing worse than not knowing what you are getting into when
you plan a night out. You should know that when you arrive at
the outer doors of Tryst, you will walk up to
something that kind of / sort of resembles one big line. Just
be prepared to fight your way towards the front and get the door
person's attention. Guys should be careful with their shoes and
shirts, as Tryst can be strict occassionally. I've found the crowd
at Tryst to be really good looking at times, and also have seen
it filled with people who look and act like they've never been
to a nightclub before. Totally is the luck of the draw. Lastly,
the drinks are just a bit more expensive than other clubs (a Long
Island runs about $16 depending on who you order it from).
A
VIRTUAL WALKTHROUGH:
As you walk in through the main entrance of the Wynn Hotel &
Casino, the elaborate hallway that leads to Tryst Nightclub will
be immediately to your right. Getting through the line and past
the ropes is relatively easy at this club, but as the saying “nice
guys finish last” implies, the more aggressive you are in
getting to the front of the line, or in getting someone’s
attention, the faster you will get inside.
1)
Getting in with a Table Reservation: If you have
a table reservation, the quickest way to reach your host is to
hang out near the END of the line near the exit security guard.
The hosts will often be in this area to discretely let people
in, and will be fairly easy to get to as the crowd is fighting
their way in the opposite direction. Just let the first person
you can get to know that you are there for a table, and they will
notify the correct host.
2)
Getting in on the Guest List: If you are on the
Guest List, you will want to work your way to the front of the
line. Just make sure that you stay near the side rope the entire
time, as on some nights the lead doorman will just pull people
from where ever he feels like. *Important:
You will need to have a written voucher to give to the cashier
downstairs...or you will pay cover.
3)
Paying General Admission:
Same rule applies. Just make your way as close to the front
of the line as possible, and stay near the rope the entire time.
Since there isn’t a very formal line in this very wide hallway,
you usually can kind of work your way towards the front without
making too many people mad. Show no fear, push your way through,
and act like you are supposed to be at the front.
Once you are
on the otherside of the rope, you will either walk down the winding
staircase or take the elevator down to the club. You will pass
through the cashier, walk through a red-velvet hallway, and be
right in the middle of Tryst Nightclub. The dance floor is directly
in front of you, the bathroom is to your right, and there are
three bars scattered throughout the club.
*TIP:
If you are reserving a table at Tryst Nightclub, I would recommend
you request to be put out on the balcony or in one of the tables
directly in front of the main bar. You will appreciate the cool
breeze blowing in from the lake, and won’t be subject to
the crowds fighting their way around the inside of the club.
*HEADS
UP: Drinks are just “a bit” more expensive
at Tryst, so don’t have sticker shock when you are charged
$16 for a Long Island Iced Tea.
INFORMATION
ABOUT TRYST NIGHTCLUB:
When
to go to Tryst Nightclub: Thursdays, Friday, Saturday,
and Sunday.
Dress
Code at Tryst Nightclub:Tryst describes their dress code as “Casual Chic,”
so just dress like you are going to a Las Vegas night club. If
you look like you tried; you will be fine. Guys should remember
that they are VERY strict when it comes to hats, shoes, and baggy
jeans. If you sneak a hat into the club and put it on once inside,
they will catch you faster than a wounded deer in an alligator
pit.
How
to get to Tryst Nightclub: If you arrive by cab or park
in the main Valet, the club will be just to the right as you walk
in through the main entrance. From the self-parking garage, walk
down the hallway, make your first right, and walk across the casino.
If all else fails simply follow the signs.
