QUICK
REVIEW OF BODY ENGLISH
by Jack Colton, Updated 10/15/2009
Body
English at the Hard Rock Hotel remains
one of my absolute favorite Las
Vegas Nightclubs. Once you step through the velvet rope, work
your way down the decadent hallways, and take the elevator down
to the main room of Body English - you are about
to have a night that you'll smile about the next day. The doormen
are accepting of fashionable
style, the crowd is sexy, the music offers something for everyone,
and the decor of the club won't let you forget you are in a rockstar
haven.
Check
it out while you still can, Body English is slated to close after
New Year's Eve 2010 and is expected to turn into an afterhours.
KNOW
WHAT EXPECT....
by Jack Colton, Updated 10/15/2007
There is
nothing worse than not knowing what you are getting into when
you plan a night out. You should know that when you arrive at
the outer doors of Body English, you will walk
up to a pretty chaotic scene as there isn’t any roped off
line for general admission customers to get into. Just be prepared
to fight your way towards the front. Guys will find the door to
be a little more accepting of fashionable
style than other Las Vegas nightclubs (feel free to venture
away from the pinstriped collared shirts). Once inside, you will
be in the middle of all that it Body English. It can be a little
crowded at times as you make your way around the club, so just
plan on letting loose and enjoying the moment.
When you walk up to the club inside of the Hard Rock Hotel, you
will typically approach a large group of people lining up along
side a winding red velvet rope. Yes ladies and gentlemen, this
is the line to get in. Don't worry though, it isn't as bad as
it looks (and it's even easier if you have a table or you and
your friends are a group of sexy young ladies). The lead doorman
spends the night walking the entire length of the rope, scanning
the crowd, and selecting who he wants to come in. So obviously
the object of the game here is to get to the actual rope (not
necessarily to the front of the door).
*Tip:
The earlier you get to Body English the better. Bully your way
to the rope, get the girls in your party up front, and try and
make eye contact with the lead doorman as he passes by. Be patient
and friendly.
Once
your party has been selected to go in, you will then walk into
a choice of 2.5 more lines on the other side. One is the pay line,
one is the comp line, and the other is for VIP’s and isn’t
really a line at all (luckily, Body English always accommodates
my group and moves us to this “line”).
After
you pass through the cashier and ID doorman, you are faced with
a set of stairs and an elevator. It's up to you, but I suggest
taking the elevator. You will then be greeted by “Tim”
the midget elevator operator, just don't be shocked when he asks
you how far down you want to go. Once the elevator door opens,
the party is on. The crowd is sexy, the music is amazing, and
the cocktail waitresses are absolutely gorgeous. You will actually
walk into the "upstairs" portion of the club.
You will find a bar immediately to your left, and one downstairs
in front of you. I’d recommend the one to your left as it
is less crowded and you won't have to walk through as much of
a crowd to get to it. Most of the rest of the “upstairs”
of the club is VIP for booths, so unless you have a table or know
someone on the inside, don’t bother with it. Just head down
the stairs and get the night started.
*You
should know: There is a hidden VIP room down the
stairs to your left. This is where I usually am on Sunday Nights.
But if you didn’t know that the room was there, you probably
won’t know anyone who can help you get in. Don’t worry
though; it is just filled with even more gorgeous girls and celebrities.
Not much to see.
INFORMATION
ABOUT BODY ENGLISH:
After
you are done partying: Either
go upstairs into the Casino and have breakfast at Lucky’s
Café (ask for the $8 steak and shrimp special).
Nights
to go to Body English: Fridays
and Saturdays are always busy, and Sunday Night is definitely
when you will find the “right crowd.”
How
to get to Body English:
The club is inside of the Hard Rock
Hotel. If you are a visitor to Las Vegas and don’t have
a car, you will need to take a short cab ride to the hotel (it’s
not far, but is a long walk). The Hard Rock is a giant circle,
so just follow the wall until you see the club.

Dress
Code: For once there is
a Las Vegas club where style is acceptable. Girls can get in wearing
pretty much anything that want, and Guys can get in wearing anything
that looks like they tried. Piece of advice though? Don't show
up wearing the same stupid un-tucked collared shirt that everyone
else is wearing. The object of the game at a nightclub is to stand
out (not match everyone else there).
