It's an intimate
atmosphere that most would kill to enjoy: topless women, millionaires,
celebrities, perfectly mixed summertime drinks, sundrenched cabanas,
and a cocktail staff keen on serving your every need. Enter BARE
Pool at the Mirage Hotel and Casino. Neatly tucked away within
a secluded section of the Mirage swimming pool that has full view
of Dolphins swimming in the Secret Garden, this exclusive pool
party takes its daytime operational cues from the best that its
Las Vegas nightlife counterparts offer, and delivers it all in
a package that directly caters to some of the most beautiful and
powerful people in all the world.
Not everyone
is guaranteed entry into BARE Pool, nor is any cabana reservation
100% set in stone. This 450 capacity venue is quite literally
the only one of it's kind within any of the MGM Mirage properties
(MGM Grand, Mirage, Treasure Island, Mandalay Bay, NY NY, Luxor,
and Bellagio), which means casino hosts are often flooding BARE
Pool with their high-rollers, celebrities, models, and powerful
executives.
*As an
example, while at BARE I recently ran into Leonardo Dicaprio just
before meeting a guy who casually mentioned how he just bought
Aloha Airlines. It's just that VIP.
This is a
party you don't want to miss, and it's more than worth a try to
get in. If you are a single guy, you will need to make sure to
arrive with one or more strikingly beautiful women. If you are
a strikingly beautiful woman, then you need to arrive with several
of your friends and make your way into the pool early. If you
are looking to reserve a Cabana or Day Bed, simply call or email
one of the BARE Hosts at the bottom of this review and candidly
tell them your situation (who will be with you, etc).
A
VIRTUAL WALKTHROUGH:
Once arriving at the swimming pool entrance of the Mirage Hotel
and Casino, you will make your way to the far right of the entrance
to Siegfried and Roy's "Secret Garden." Just to the
other side of the turnstyles you will see a pathway that leads
towards a BARE Host dressed in all white linen and holding a discretely
placed clipboard. If you are able to gain entry, or if a cabana
is available to you, he will allow you to pass through the first
set of ropes and make your way down the approximately 100ft laviously
decorated tropical pathway.
This
will bring you to a second set of ropes where another host will
set you up with your cabana / daybed, or let you pass to the cashier.
Once your business is handled with the cashier just inside, you
are now inside of all that BARE Topless pool is. The fully stocked
main bar will be directly to your left and the pool is just to
your right.
As
you make your way around the pool, you will see cabanas and daybeds
lining the walls and poolside. These are not available for anyone
to enjoy, as they are reserved for customers who rent them out
for the duration of their visit to the pool. The impressively
decorated bathrooms will be down and to your right, and there
will be an 'upper VIP area' that features a free flowing glass
walled hot tub and bird's eye view of all the action within the
pool party. If you manage to gain entrance
to this ultra-exclusive area of BARE, you can peak over the rear
wall and actually watch the dolphins play in the Secret Garden
just behind you.
While
it is always a good idea to arrive to BARE early, don't be surprised
if it takes a few hours for the ladies tops to begin to shed.
As with anything, it sometimes takes a few drinks in everyone's
systems before the real fun begins. But once it does, you
won't be dissappointed. - JC

ABOUT BARE TOPLESS POOL:
When
to go to BARE Pool: The pool is currently open Thursday
- Monday from 11AM - 7PM (Closed Tuesday and Wednesday). It is
best to arrive early. You will find the best crowds on Saturday,
Sunday, and Monday.
How
to get to BARE Pool: BARE Pool is located within a secluded
section of the Mirage Hotel and Casino main swimming pool. Once
inside the casino, make your way towards the rear of the hotel
(by way of the casino floor) towards any of the signs that say
"Danny Gans theater" or "Pool" (go figure).
Once you pass through the doors towards the swimming pool, stay
to your right and go along the far right pathway next to the "Secret
Garden" turnstyles. You will be met by a doorman for Bare
Pool.
Dress
Code: It's a pool party so that one is pretty self explanatory.
As you probably know by now, this is "european bathing"
and tops are optional for both sexes. Just make sure to have your
shirt, shoes, and shorts on when you walk through the actual casino.
Oh yea, don't be afraid to wear sunglasses the size of motorcycle
windshields. Everybody else is doing it!
What
to do after the party: Shower, sleep, rinse, and repeat.
